Terms of Service

Effective July 13, 2026

These terms cover your use of Keyline, the hosted zero-knowledge secrets manager at keyline.sh. By creating a workspace or using the CLI, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Keyline is operated by a sole proprietor based in Bulgaria ("we"). Contact: support@keyline.sh. When Keyline moves to a company, we will update this page.

2. What Keyline does

Keyline stores your team's environment secrets. Encryption and decryption happen on your machines. Our servers hold ciphertext, wrapped keys, metadata, and audit events. We cannot read your secret values. See the encryption design for how this works.

3. Your account and devices

4. Zero-knowledge and recovery

We cannot reset or recover your secrets. Recovery works through any active admin device or a sealed recovery file you keep yourself. If you lose all devices and the recovery file, your encrypted data is unrecoverable. That is by design, not a bug.

5. Acceptable use

We may suspend accounts that break these rules. Where possible, we warn first.

6. Plans and billing

Paid plans are sold through Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, invoices, and applicable taxes. Their buyer terms apply to the purchase itself. See our refund policy.

7. Cancellation and downgrade

Cancel anytime. Team features stay active until the end of the paid period. After that your workspace drops to Solo limits. We do not delete your data on downgrade.

8. Your data

Your secrets are yours. You can export them at any time with keyline pull. If you delete your workspace, we delete its data from our systems. See the privacy policy for details.

9. Availability and changes

Keyline is a young product under active development. It is provided "as is", without warranty. We work hard on reliability but do not offer an SLA yet. We may change features, and will give notice before removing anything significant.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the dashboard before they take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. EU consumers keep the protections of their home country's law.
